Restoration of 2 fireplaces in Victorian 2 storey terraced house

Victorian 2 storey terraced house with 2 fireplaces needing restoration.

Back Room – Ground Floor:

Victorian Carrara marble flat top surround needing full restoration due to movement and damage. The cast iron arched insert missing various parts and badly damaged burning area.
Surround and insert were removed. Marble surround was fully restored including repairs, replacement sections, cleaning, polishing and re-boxing together.
Cast iron arched insert was stripped of paint, repairs made to fire back and damper plate supplied, graphite finish was applied and buffed on completion of the restoration work.
A slate hearth was supplied and the fireplace was re-installed.

Front Room Ground Floor:

Victorian Carrara marble corbel surround needing full restoration due to movement and damaged components. Cast iron panelled insert with damaged back.
Marble surround was removed and fully restored, including cleaning, repairs to breaks and chips. The surround was then re-boxed and polished.
Cast iron insert was restored in situ, including re-casting firebrick; graphite finish was applied and buffed.
On completion of the restoration works the fireplace was re-fitted and a template slate hearth was supplied and fitted.
